We are no longer allowed to shoot practice 4 of this match at 25 yards and so the course of fire has been modified.

 

There will be two Fig.11 targets on the front frame of the butts, and two Fig.14 targets on the rear frame.

 

Practice 1: 100m. S/Alert - Sitting. Fig11. 1 x exp. 60 secs. 10 Rnds

The firers will be given the order "load", and then "make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the Standing Alert position" (rifle in the shoulder and barrel at 45 degrees).

They will then be given the order "watch and shoot".  

On the appearance of the two fig.11 targets, they will drop down to the sitting position, release the safety catch once the rifle is pointing at the target and fire 10 rounds in 60 seconds on the left hand target.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "Unload and show clear". 

With the rifles action open, breach flags in, and held in the trail, the firers will walk in line abreast to the 75m line.

 

Practice 2: 75m S.Alert. - Kneeling. Fig11. 1 x Exp. 45 Secs. 10 Rnds

The firers will be given the order "Load", and then "Make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the Standing Alert position" (rifle in the shoulder and barrel at 45 degrees).

They will then be given the order ‘Watch and Shoot’.  

On the appearance of the two fig.11 targets, they will drop down to the kneeling or squatting position, release the safety catch once the rifle is pointing at the target and fire 10 rounds in 45 seconds on the right hand target.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to unload and show clear. 

With the rifles action open, breach flag in, and held in the trail, the firers will walk in line abreast to the 50m line.

 

Practice 3: 50m. S/Alert - Standing. Fig14. 5 x Exp. 6 secs. 5 x 2 Rnds

The firers will be given the order "Load", and then "Make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the Standing Alert position" (rifle in the shoulder and barrel at 45 degrees).

They will then be given the order ‘Watch and Shoot’.  

On the appearance of the target, they will come to the aim and fire 2 rounds on the left hand fig.14 target. 

There will be 5 exposures of 6 seconds and each time the firer will return to the standing alert position. 

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "Unload and show clear". 

 

Practice 4: 25m. S/Alert - Standing. Fig14. 3 x Exp. 8 secs. 10 Rnds

The firers will be given the order "Load", and then "Make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the kneeling position".

They will then be given the order ‘Watch and Shoot’.  

On the appearance of the target, they will come to the aim and fire on the right hand target. 

There will be 3 exposures of 8 seconds and each time the firer will fire on the right hand target, any number of rounds can be shot at each exposure.  Only 10 rounds will be fired. 

Between exposures the firer will remain in the kneeling position.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "unload and show clear". 

 

Once the rifles have been inspected and the breach flags inserted, the firers will go into the butts, where they can inspect their targets and have their score put on their score cards. 

The person in the butts will check the rifle used against the details on the score card.

The firer will stay in butts and do the next detail.  He will give his signed card to his relief who will take it to the match scorer.  His rifle details will be put on the card, for the scorer to determine the class.
