Last weekend (4th - 5th November), in the first test run of a new arrangement, we supplied 4 x No:4's and 1 x SMLE for the British Young Shooters Associations Historic section.

There were an awful lot of them. They all arrived at Bisley on Friday evening, most of them stayed at the Inns of Court clubhouse which was their base for the weekend, but they took up accommodation all over the camp.

Saturday morning was spent in the classroom doing training (At the London & Middlesex).

Saturday afternoon was on Century at 300 yds.

Sunday Morning Century at 500 yds and then Short Siberia at 200 yds.

The weekend went extremely well.

Their training regime looks good and their standards of handling and shooting were surprisingly high.

The level of commitment of all concerned was most impressive, I did finally get to have a chat with Richard (their chairman) on Sunday once he had finally finished cooking and serving up dinner for 130 students.

Fortunately only some of them were shooting historic, the majority were shooting TR and CSR.

Gaz Corfield (whom many of you will know as the editor of UK Shooting News) runs their CSR and Historic sections, and it was he who approached us with a request for help. He has asked that I give a big thank you to the committee for supporting the initiative. They intend to enter teams for all of the Historic matches at Bisley next year and will be holding events similar to last weekend 4 or 5 times a year.

Good news for Enfields (and us).
