Mid Range Target Rifle Meeting

For Lee Enfield Target, Service and Sniper Rifles

To be held at Bisley on Sunday 19th September 2021.

ENTRIES

1.            Entries will be accepted up to Wednesday 15th September 2021 by email.

               Entries will not be accepted on the day. Payment by cheque or cash on the day

2.            Entry Fees:  £15 per match (the Match includes shoots at BOTH 300 and 600yds)

RULES AND REGULATIONS

3.         All Matches will be shot under NRA rules applicable to the discipline being fired; see SLING section for exceptions and guidance. The use of scopes, shooting mats and gloves are allowed in all competitions.

4.         Targetry will be NRA round bull TR type.

5.         Target foresights are permitted in the “Robin Fulton” only; In the Major Reynolds a blade foresight only may be used in conjunction with a tunnel foresight. The Skennerton will be as “issue sights”. Sniper optical sights for the “Pete Bloom” match must be in the “spirit of the original”.  If unsure about anything, contact the Shooting Coordinator.   

6.         The emphasis is on a friendly competition.

7.         Multiple entries are encouraged; e.g. Different rifle same match.

8.         Ammunition:   Competitors must ensure that all ammunition is compatible with current NRA muzzle energy regulations.

SLINGS

9.         “Skennerton”, slings will be of service pattern. The sling will be attached to the rifle in two                                                                                                                                          separate places, the upper sling swivel and the butt sling swivel. Competitors using the No.4T without optics may use the issue M17 sling which will be fixed to the butt swivel and mid band. The use of the sling in the “single point” mode is forbidden.

10.       “Major Reynolds” civilian slings attached at two points and not wider than 2” are allowed; as is the service sling. The sling may be attached forward of the magazine in two places and not less than 8” apart.

11.       “Pete Bloom” the issue leather or web sling may be used in conjunction with No4 T or SMLE, the L42A1 and Enforcer may also use the L8A1 sling, these must be attached to the mid  band sling swivel,  and or Swivel in front of the Magazine or butt sling swivel. The sling may be used as single point in this match. The use of the longer Bren Gun sling is also allowed.

12.        “Robin Fulton” a single point sling may used.

THE COMPETITIONS

13.       The “Skennerton” Service Rifle (a). Any Long Lee, SMLE, No4, No4T or No5 rifle in “as issued”

             configuration. Competitors wishing to use a No4 T must do so with the issue iron sights.

14.       The “Major Reynolds” Service Rifle (b). Any Long Lee, SMLE or No4 rifle fitted with

            conttemporary target sights

15.       The “Robin Fulton” First generation 7.62mm Target Rifles. Any rifle with a No4 or SMLE receive

            pertaining to “first generation”, this does not preclude the use of Whittaker Specials, or rifles

            converted by GL & IJ Hart which have been fitted with hand stops and custom furniture, (not

            thumbhole).

16.        The “Pete Bloom” This is sub-divided into four classes:

             Class 1.             ·303 Service Snipers i.e.  SMLE & No4 T.

             Class 2.             7.62mm Service Sniper (L42A1).       

             Class 3.             Enforcer and any 7.62mm Enfield rifle fitted with a bipod (bipods to be used in class 3    only)   

           Class 4.             “Open”   Mosin Nagant, Remington 700, or whatever is lurking at the back of your gun      cabinet that you haven’t used in a while!

            SQUADDING

17.       This will be a squadded meeting of 5 details am and 5 details pm on 3 lanes; to make this work you will need to make sure your personal admin is good and well prepared in advance, for instance score cards must be filled in correctly and you must make sure you have pens & pencils to write scores with and a telescope or binoculars to score your partner with.

18.       All Competitors are to report to the Century Range by 0800 19 September 2021, to book in and pay the range fee.  Score cards will then be issued.

19.    Score cards will not be issued unless competitors are carrying a valid Competency Certificate!

Distance:          300 yards

Target:             Standard TR round bull all calibres and classes.

Shots:              2 convertible sighters (see NRA rule 302) and 10 to count.

Scoring:           Round bull: V bull = 5.1, bull = 5, inner = 4, magpie = 3, outer = 2 rest of target =1

PM

Distance:          600 yards

Target:             Standard TR round bull all calibres and classes.

Shots:              2 convertible sighters (see NRA rule 302) and 10 to count.

Scoring:           Round bull: V bull = 5.1, bull = 5, inner = 4, magpie = 3, outer = 2 rest of target =1.

PLEASE NOTE

Scorecards must be handed in at the end of each Practice. See NRA Rule 546(i)
