General

1.         All firers must report in to the designated RCO/Admin (Range Control) by 0800.  Cars to be parked in the main car park which is next to the range toilet block.  No cars to be parked on the grass.  Note the access road must remain clear at all times; there must be room to get a vehicle up to the butts to allow for emergency vehicles. The overflow carpark is by the public road behind the 600yard point.  Once the range car park is full, late arrivals will have to park in this car park

2.        Firers must hand in a completed Signing in Sheet, show SCC and pay the range fee on arrival at range control.

There will be two Fig.11 targets on the front frame of the butts, and two Fig.14 targets on the rear frame.

The firers will be directed onto the 100m firing point.

Practice 1:

The firers will be given the order "load", and then "make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the Standing Alert position" (rifle in the shoulder and barrel at 45 degrees).

They will then be given the order "watch and shoot".

On the appearance of the two fig.11 targets, they will drop down to the sitting position, release the safety catch once the rifle is pointing at the target and fire 10 rounds in 60 seconds on the left hand target.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "Unload and show clear".

With the rifles action open, breach flags in, and held in the trail, the firers will walk in line abreast to the 75m line.

They will then be given the order ‘Watch and Shoot’.

On the appearance of the target, they will come to the aim and fire 2 rounds on the left hand fig.14 target.

There will be 5 exposures of 6 seconds and each time the firer will return to the standing alert position.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "Unload and show clear".

Practice 4:

The firers will be given the order "Load", and then "Make ready, apply the safety catch and adopt the kneeling position".

They will then be given the order ‘Watch and Shoot’.

There will be 3 exposures of 8 seconds and each time the firer will fire on the right hand target, any number of rounds can be shot at each exposure.  Only 10 rounds will be fired.

Between exposures the firer will remain in the kneeling position.

At the end of the practice, the firers will be given the order to "unload and show clear".

Once the rifles have been inspected and the breach flags inserted, the firers will go into the butts, where they can inspect their targets and have their score put on their score cards.

The person in the butts will check the rifle used against the details on the score card.

The firer will stay in butts and do the next detail.  He will give his signed card to his relief who will take it to the match scorer.  His rifle details will be put on the card, for the scorer to determine the class.
